Live from the monsoon

Posted in DC United, MLS, weather by Aaron S. on July 23rd, 2008

Folks, I cannot describe the kind of epic storm that has descended up RFK right now. Lightning is everywhere, the stadium lights are out, water is pooling on the field, fans are slipsliding around the field because no cop or security person will go chase them down. It’s absolutely epic. We hear that this game must restart by 11 pm or else it will be called final.

If they come back out, which reports seem to show they will be able to, the field they will arrive on will most resemble a wading pool.

In a year with some truly epically bad weather, this is up there with the tornado night.

As I write, a massive clap of thunder hits and the Barra finally flees to the concourse.

I will have more updates as things change.

Nah, just a few whackos going for a harmless swim thru the penalty area.
