But Jason Kreis –and I know some RSL fans may not believe this, but I think it is true — Jason Kreis outmanaged Tom Soehn in this game. Once he saw the situation on the field, he shifted his players to take advantage of it.
How often do you think that Coach Soehn gets outcoached and do you think it is a reason to be concerned yet? I am not yet at that point, but I’ll admit, the thought has entered my mind. Especially with this man available. See who after the jump.
I am not calling for Soehn’s head yet, not even close. But I am more concerned than I thought I would be.

Let’s not get too carried away. Soehn has still earned the benefit of the doubt by virtue of last year, and the work he did with Nowak. Soehn was outmanaged because he has different priorities than Kreis. I don’t blame Soehn for resting key players on Saturday, but rather that he has not developed a squad deep enough to rest players and still get results.
And we can point to many, many instances where Bruce 2.0 was outmanaged, especially in his personnel decisions.
I agree with both of you. It’s not time to get the knives out yet. But it’s the first time I started to wonder where I left them.
How long ago was the last time Il Bruce impressed with his coaching? Maybe there are better options available, but I don’t see any reason right now to think that Arena is one of them.
Soehn’s tactical choices (or often the failure to even make them) leave a lot to be desired. I’ve never been particularly pleased with him from that standpoint, and I’m fairly certain that a significant portion of the blame for recent cup failures have to fall at his feet. But . . . but–he did deliver the best record in MLS last year. Too bad that only gets you silverware from the supporters in this league.
As for The Bruce–I’m with Bootsy. That dog has sailed (or something to that effect).
